Essential Responsibilities:

  •          Directs safety program activities for specific area and crew
  •          Inspect products to verify conformance to specifications
  •          Be able to verify and correct the setup and adjustment of machinery
  •          Able to work all shifts as required
  •          Interpret company policies and procedures to workers and enforces same
  •          Communicate with other supervisors and management to achieve company standards and production requirements
  •          Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase the efficiency
  •          Initiates or suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve company standards and goals
  •          Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems
  •          Have a working knowledge of all equipment used and activities performed by employees

Minimum Qualifications:

  •          College degree or prior supervisory experience preferred
  •          Comprehensive knowledge of all sawmill machine centers
  •          Excellent problem solving skills
  •          Excellent communication skills
  •          Good at multi-tasking
  •          Good organizational skills
  •          Must be available for shift work schedules
  •          PC operation (Word, Excel, etc.)
  •          Ability to coach and lead a diverse workforce
  •          Ability and desire to advance to higher levels of supervision
