Lumber Sales Job Description

The Lumber Sales' primary role is to buy and sell hardwood lumber, similar to that of a commodity trader.  This position provides candidates interested in sales an opportunity to better understand product pricing strategies, negotiation practices, market analysis, territory management, and other standard business practices. Work environment will include both an office setting and some travel. This role is an ideal role for students graduating soon or recent college grads.

  • Travel to sawmills & lumber yards
  • Participate in both the procurement and the sales of hardwood lumber
  • Interact with customers and suppliers, forging and maintaining relationships with customers
  • Work with existing employees to gain further insight into Baillie Lumber Co.
  • Relationships with sawmill and yard personnel

Lumber Sales Requirements

  • Completed or future recent grad with a 4 year degree, preferably in a business field
  • Willingness to travel
