WOODLANDS SUPERVISOR – SILVICULTURE

Based out of our Prince George office and under the direct supervision of the Woodlands Manager, the Woodlands Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing Carrier’s Silviculture operations associated with its Replaceable Tenure volume in the Prince George and Robson Timber Supply Areas.

THE QUALIFICATIONS:

The following qualifications are preferred:

  • Minimum 3-5 years related experience
  • Eligibility as a Registered Professional Forester / Registered Professional Forestry Technician or a related amount of experience and the ability to become an RPF/RFT.
  • Strong work ethic and love of the outdoors
  • Basic understanding of safety rules and regulations
  • Self-motivated team player with ability to communicate verbally and in writing
  • Strong computer skills and aptitude for forestry-based technologies

THE DUTIES:

  • Manage contractor safety, performance, and environmental leadership in Silviculture
  • Develop strategies and provide leadership and direction to improve safety, reduce operational costs and demonstrate an excellence in Silviculture Management
  • Plan and execute annual planting, stand tending and survey programs
  • Participate in various contract negotiations
  • Professional interaction with Government personnel and industry partners
  • Other duties related to operations in harvesting and planning may also be assigned

Salary will be commensurate with experience.
