Timber Buyer / Procurement Forester
(Entry Level) - Sparta & Hudson, WI

St. Croix Forestry is hiring multiple full-time entry-level timber buyers/ procurement foresters to work out of our Hudson and Sparta, WI locations.

To start, the position will assist the procurement staff with day to day operations and generating new client leads. As experience is gained more responsibilities will be added including timber marking, marketing of wood products, supervision of harvesting crews, and timber sale setup and administration.

Responsibilities Include:

● Project maintenance and office support.
● Sales lead generation and prospecting.
● Contacting potential clients through phone calls, emails, letters, and other media.
● Provide assistance with timber sale related projects. (timber marking, sale boundaries, road layout, log scaling
etc.)

Qualifications:

● Sales experience is a plus.
● Interest in the outdoors.
● Strong communication skills both written & verbal.
● The ability to make independent decisions through problem solving and reasoning.
● Working knowledge of timber harvesting and management systems is a plus.
● Self-starter, detail oriented and results driven.
● Be a team player.
● Physically fit for work in the field.
● Strong computer and technical skills, experience working with spreadsheets, basic GIS, and GPS.
● Have a reliable means of transportation to and from work.
