PotlatchDeltic Corporation is seeking two Silviculture Interns for summer 2019 in Lewiston, Idaho. The purpose of an internship is to supplement your education by providing a broader understanding of your potential career path.
Interns are matched with a mentor to assist in their training and development. The mentor will guide the intern as they develop an intimate understanding of the processes to complete a project that promotes cost savings, efficiencies, quality, and most importantly, safety.
Internships are typically three-month, full-time assignments, beginning in May or June and continuing through August.

Work with the Idaho Resource group on the development of silviculture regimes and high-quality seed and seedlings to optimize timber values within the context of our overall management goals. Conduct research to evaluate new silviculture treatments and regimes, synthesize this information into silviculture guidelines to meet timber production and environmental goals.
Working Conditions:
- Working outside in a variety of weather conditions (e.g., heat and cold)
- Office environment
- Some mental/visual/physical fatigue from computer terminal use
- Significant travel among Idaho Resource districts and to external meetings (up to 50%)
- Variety of terrain conditions (e.g., steep hill slopes and numerous walking obstacles)
- Occasional lifting of 30 pounds or less
