Position Title: Saw Mill Operations Manager – Chase City, Virginia

Job Function: PalletOne is searching for a professional team member to fill a new Operations Manager role at the Chase City facility, a sawmill that provides critical lumber for PalletOne’s operations in North Carolina and mulch for local customers. The successful candidate will be an essential member of the plant’s leadership team reporting directly to the plant manager.

The Operations Manager will contribute to the success of the Chase City operation by managing the facility’s daily operations and overseeing the following departments: cutting, assembly, maintenance, lumber yard, and office administration. The operations manager will have direct responsibility for all human resource and safety functions, including training, reporting and record keeping. The Chase City sawmill currently has one shift. The Operations Manager may work evenings and weekends as necessary.

Preferred Qualifications:

• High comfort working in an outside and rugged environment
• Experience with saw mill operations is strongly preferred, but other production experience will be considered
• Experience with interpreting and executing safety regulations and rules
• Proven track record of managing a team, and multiple units
• Demonstrated success in a professional work setting
• Strong time management and organizational skills
• Demonstrated ability to work at a fast pace within time constraints
• Detail oriented, analytical, ability to multi-task and problem solve
• MS Office skills with an emphasis on Excel and Outlook
• Team player

Salary will be commensurate with experience.
