Northern Hardwoods Lumber, our hardwood lumber sawmill company located in Atlantic Mine, Michigan, is seeking an experienced candidate to serve as our afternoon shift Production Supervisor.

Job Summary:

Job Title: Production Supervisor

Reports to: Sawmill & Site Facility Manager

The Production Supervisor is responsible for supervision of the afternoon sawmill and planer operations, working with the team to achieve and/or exceed production goals.

Duties:

• Oversee afternoon sawmill and planer operations
• Achieve and improve upon targeted production goals
• Grade lumber and maintain consistency
• Conduct physical inventories
• Operate gas and wood boiler
• Equipment maintenance
• Ensure safe working environment

Qualifications and Skills:

• HS Diploma or equivalent
• 2+ years supervisory experience in a sawmill manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of wood products industry, equipment and production process
• Hardwood lumber grading experience or understanding of Hardwood grading rules
• Boiler and equipment maintenance experience
• Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Skills in Microsoft products including Word and Excel
