Description:
The Plant Manager will provide plant management at this small wood processing facility in Colorado. This will be a hands on Plant Manager job working with a staff less than 20 employees with the plant running two 12 hour shifts 5 days per week.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement and document a process management schedule
- Increase capacity of plant
- Manage plant production goals and unit costs
- Build and implement operational budget
- Assist with implementation of annual operation and Capex budgets
- Develop and implement a critical wear parts inventory and replacement system
- Oversee labor management
- Implement official documemtation for current and future processes being used in the facility
- Assist in building and fostering the right work environment and culture
- Foster a well-trained and motivated staff
- Effectively communicate and work with customers and suppliers regarding material and logistic issues
- Negotiate favorable terms with vendors
- Provide leadership support for all receiving activities to insure on-time delivery
- Perform analysis as required for material variances and identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Identify and suggest areas for continuous improvement within the factory (i.e. signage, layouts, systems, processes, product organization, etc.)
- Provide assistance with PLCs and control systems
- Assit with high level machical issues at plant
- Drive new and existing processes through to plant staff
- Conduct employee performance reviews
Requirements:
- 3 years experience in a wood processing Plant Management role
- High School Diploma/GED required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Strong maintenance background.
- Basic undeerstanding of PLC and control systems
- Lean manufacturing experience
- Demonstrated resolve of complex system issues
- Ability to analyze current systems and make suggestions for improvement
- Experience implementing material systems and business processes
- Creative problem solver
- Ability to effectively interact and lead people
- Experienced system knowledge
- A demonstrated performance record
