Prentiss & Carlisle Management Co., Inc. provides timberland management and consulting services for clients throughout the United States and eastern Canada. 
PCMC has an immediate opening for a qualified professional with a minimum of two years of operational experience within the forest industry and has strong analytical skills. This position is based in Bangor, Maine. Our goal for this position is to have a successful candidate who will spend 1 to 3 years devoted to operations with increasing amounts of analytical and technical responsibilities as part of staff transitions within our technical support group.
Operations responsibilities will include annual and longer term harvest planning, harvest administration and supervision. As a Project Forester, responsibilities may include project coordination and oversight, silvicultural investment analysis, forestland valuation, growth-and-yield modeling, harvest scheduling, and inventory design. In addition to a working knowledge of financial analysis, biometrics and mensuration techniques, good database skills, including database design, reporting, and application development are essential. GIS analysis and application development skills would be a plus.
 
Requirements
This position requires at a minimum a BS degree in forestry or related field. Experience with Microsoft Office, Visual BASIC or other programming languages, ArcInfo/ArcMap GIS and Microsoft Access database software is desired. The position also requires proficiency in relevant silvicultural and mensuration skills to evaluate timberland, excellent communication, reporting, and analytical skills, a strong desire to succeed and the ability to work independently and to coordinate and supervise others.
