Description:
The Maintenance Superintendent at this sawmill in Washington State will manage a team of maintenance technicians (mechancial and electrical) at a lumber manufacturing facility. The goal is to manage in a way that supports/enhances the company’s principles, fosters teamwork and produces results.
Other responsibilities of the position include (but are not limited to): driving preventive and predictive maintenance; working with other managers to ensure proper maintenance scheduling; working with the facility operations group to increase reliability while improving plant performance; assuring safe work practices are followed at all times; and, driving safety awareness through leading by example.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent. Engineering degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years sawmill maintenance supervisory experience
Abilities:
- Problem solving skills
- Strong computer skills especially in MS Office Word and Excel
- Leadership experience in a manufacturing company with a customer focus in mechanical and reliability maintenance and training and mentoring employees
- Strong communication, scheduling and organizing skills
- Proven ability in managing others as well as influencing and building partnerships
- Strong interpersonal and technical troubleshooting skills, to include hydraulics
- Strong sense of urgency and teamwork
- Ability to read structural blueprints and hydraulic schematics
- Basic electrical skills and understanding
- Team building and motivational skills
- Risk management skills, risk identification / mitigation
- Experience leading and managing direct reports - including coaching, performance feedback and incentives
