Maintenance Manager (Maintenance & Trades)

Norbord’s Oriented Strand Board (OSB) Mill in Grande Prairie, AB is seeking to fill the key role of Maintenance Manager.  Reporting to the General Manager, the Maintenance Manager will be responsible for the safe and cost effective maintenance of the mill.  The successful candidate will lead the maintenance team with the core belief that safety is paramount above all else.

 Responsibilities

  • Active participation towards providing a safe working environment
  • Leading a highly qualified maintenance team
  • Managing maintenance budgets
  • Open communications with production personnel
  • Promoting and leading continuous innovation and process improvements initiatives
  • Developing and sustaining skills of the maintenance workforce
  • Adhering to defined business processes
  • Executing scheduled maintenance activities
  • Responding to changing priorities and operating conditions within the business
  • Managing R&M costs, ensuring alignment with the business goals

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of supervisory maintenance experience within the heavy manufacturing industry
  • Experience using a CMMS System, (preferably Ivara) to reduce unscheduled downtime
  • Good understanding and prior utilization of preventative maintenance tools; such as lubrication, vibration analysis and thermography
  • A background and or education in engineering preferred
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
  • A commitment to safe work practices
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Strong work ethic, good judgment and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment
  • Must have track record of consistently demonstrating leadership skills as well as positive influence and accomplishments
