Fornebu Lumber Company Inc., located in Bathurst, employing approximately 115 employees, is currently looking for a Maintenance Coordinator for our sawmill facility.
ROLE OVERVIEW:
Reporting to the General Manager, this position is primarily responsible for managing the effective delivery of maintenance services to operations; to guarantee equipment reliability and functionality, and to support the achievement of uptime and productivity targets. This position also ensures health & safety, cost, environment, quality, and human resources objectives are achieved.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Cost effective predictive and preventative maintenance planning and execution.
- Participate in annual budget preparation.
- Optimizing processes, machines, equipment availability and reliability.
- Lead in the planning, material procurement, services, scheduling, and coordinating of the required work for approved major repairs.
- Ensure maintenance systems exceed local safety and environmental regulations.
- Promote a safe work place.
- Develop and implement a maintenance plan with a long term vision.
- Demonstrate ability to lead change and continuous improvement.
- Comply with the collective agreement while maintaining sound union/management employee relations. Provide leadership to department personnel to address the day-to-day operating and maintenance issues.
PREREQUISITES INCLUDE:
- Mechanical engineering degree, technician diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 10 years experience related to trades or engineering in the maintenance field. Mechanical and electrical background preferred.
- Project management experience.
- Knowledge of preventative maintenance program.
- Drafting ability with Auto Cad experience considered an asset.
- Strong problem solving skills.
- Strong organizational skills, computer skills, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to implement change.
- Ability to work as part of a team and participate in a cross-functional team environment.
- Prior leadership experience in a unionized setting and an industrial environment preferred.
- Bilingualism considered an asset.
