Lumber Grader Trainee (Forestry, Logging & Mill Operations)

Stimson Lumber is your springboard to success; become a proficient, skilled grader and get paid while you’re doing it. 

You bring to the table; lumber industry experience or a minimum of 3-months manufacturing plant experience.  A desire to study and learn grading rules of products produced at the plant to meet WWPA certification.  Able to identify defect in product, possess working knowledge of grade rules, and able to grade on the line.  Demonstrate the ability to make grade and trim decisions to maximize product value and recovery.

This job will be working 4 days per week/ 10 hours per shift - day shift.  Must be available to work Saturdays.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS DEMONSTRATED: Desire to learn and become proficient in lumber grading, including certification. Detailed oriented and able to complete tasks with efficiency and accuracy. Basic understanding of species and grade line. Basic understanding of production flow and products at the Plant. Basic math skills.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Minimum of 3 month experience at Plant (no previous grading experience necessary).
