Job Type: Town Job, HD Mechanic, Full time, Shop work, some field work
 
Schedule: Mon-Fri, occasional weekends, 9 hour days.
 
Wage: Will be based on experience and qualifications.

Applicants must be fully ticketed Red Seal HD Mechanics.  Preference will be given to those with experience in west coast logging equipment (Yarders, Log Loaders & Hydraulic Log Loaders, Logging Trucks). Required: Red seal, Consider 3rd or 4th year apprentice, Class 5 drivers license. (HD mechanics with welding experience an asset)
 
Responsibilities:

• Build and assemble machines or mechanical components according to requirements.
• Inspect machines, engines, transmissions etc. and run diagnostic tests to discover functionality issues.
• Conduct repairs aiming for maximum reliability.
• Troubleshoot reported problems and resolve them in a timely manner.
• Perform thorough maintenance on machinery, equipment and systems.
• Keep a clean, organized, safe work environment.
• Perform in a safe and orderly manner and adhere to Work Safe BC regulations.
• Maintain work orders and maintenance records as directed.
• Undertake any other shop duties as assigned.

Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Mechanic
- Self-motivated, mature, requires minimum supervision, works well with others, willing and able to work in all weather conditions
- Dependable, punctual and co-operative
- Team player
- Excellent knowledge of machinery and hydraulic, electrical and other systems and their components
- Ability to follow established procedures and practices and read instruction, blueprints etc.
- A strong commitment to all health and safety guidelines
- Problem-solving ability
- Excellent physical strength and stamina
- First Aid Certification an asset
