Overall Responsibilities:

The GIS Developer works within a collaborative team and matrix reporting environment to provide forest information and mapping solutions to GreenWood’s global operations, acquisitions and portfolio management teams. The position will utilize programming and coding skills to develop and maintain web-based and automated mapping and data deliver and collection applications. Other duties include spatial data preparation, analysis, and mapping with results presented via online, digital, and/or paper maps. The successful candidate will have demonstrated ability to develop spatial data solutions using ESRI-related development tools, related programming languages, as well as advanced skills in GIS analysis and cartography.

Qualifications:

• Expertise with enterprise relational spatial database management systems (ArcSDE & SQL Server Spatial), GIS analysis, and production of high-quality cartographic products using ArcGIS 10.x and ArcGIS Pro.
• Knowledge of the capabilities of the ArcGIS platform and the ability to learn and stay current with developments in GIS and related technology.
• Development experience using Python scripting within a GIS environment.
• Experience with SQL scripting and a working knowledge of SQL Server.
• Knowledge of ArcGIS Server, ArcPortal, and ArcGIS Online.
• Development experience with mobile GIS solutions, including ArcGIS Collector, ArcGIS Explorer, and Survey123.
• Experience with 3D Analyst and Spatial Analyst extensions and geoprocessing.

Additional Qualifications:

• Ability to lead projects through all phases of a development life cycle in an agile environment. The ability to identify process inefficiencies and opportunities to automate spatial workflows and to plan and execute improvements.
• Strong communication skills, ability to gather and document project requirements, and
capable of presenting and defending solutions to a diverse community.
• A proactive self-starter who can work under multiple conditions and seeks to provide
solutions with creative flexibility.
• Knowledge of JavaScript, HTML and CSS a plus.
• Knowledge of ESRI .NET SDK and Trimble Forest Management System a plus.
• Fluency in Spanish or Portuguese preferred.
Scope:
• Work under the direction of the Director, Resource Operations, in coordination with Global
Resource Information and Sustainability staff within a team environment.
• Perform multiple tasks in an environment of changing priorities.
• Translate company strategy and vision to project prioritization, solution development, and implementation.
• Occasional travel to global offices as needed (5-10%)
