Iverson Forest Management Inc. is currently seeking several career minded, experienced, and driven Forestry Technicians to join our Vancouver Island team in the beautiful Cowichan Valley.

 

Established in 1990, Iverson Forestry Management Inc, has a proven track record in providing Forestry Consulting and Silviculture Management for multi-phase harvest solutions on Vancouver Island and the Lower Mainland. Today we offer a full range of Forest Engineering, Standing Stem Harvesting, Private Property Resources Management, and Fire Fighting services to Industry, Government, and First Nation Clients.  

The successful Forestry Technician will be responsible for providing technical and supervisory expertise to our clients including:


·        Creating engineering plans and designs

·        Coordinating projects and reports

·        Preparing proposals, site surveys and inspections

·        GPS technical and analytical support and field services

·        Strategic and operational planning    

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Registered or eligible for registration, with the Association of BC Forest Professionals as a Forest Technologist (RFT) or Professional Forester (RFP)

  • Forestry, natural resources or related engineering education and experience

  • Working knowledge of provincial legislation, regulations and safety programs

  • Experience maintaining effective relationships with clients and government agencies

  • Field crew supervision and experience with forestry software and technology would be an asset  

We are looking for an individual with a commitment to maintain a high level of safety, efficiency, quality and client satisfaction in all aspects of their work.  This position may require some travel and the successful candidate must be physically capable of performing field work in challenging terrain and weather. We are seeking individuals who have:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Enthusiasm and passion for both forestry and working outdoors

  • A strong work ethic and ability to work with minimal supervision

  • Great planning, organizational, skills with strong analytical and problem-solving skills 

All applicants must applicants must have a valid driver’s license, be eligible to work in Canada and be physically able to fulfill the demands of the field.
