JOB ANNOUNCEMENT  - Forestry Technician

Job Title:   Forestry Technician, Seasonal Full Time

Location:   Based in Redding, California

Summary:   Applicants will work jointly with professional foresters on all facets of field operations, with a focus on timber cruising, timber sale preparation, Timber Harvesting Plan preparation, and wildlife fieldwork. The term of the positions is approximately year-round based upon weather conditions with potential for permanent advancement. Consideration will be given to academic schedules. Appropriate equipment and transportation will be provided.

Discription:   This position will assist RPFs in Timber Harvesting Plans and Timber Sale Administration which involves marking trees, determining harvest and property boundaries, and flagging watercourse protection zones. Will also assist the inventory department with timber cruising and establishing or re-establishing permanent growth plots. May also perform native plant and wildlife surveys. Additional duties involve working with the reforestation department.
