Forestry Planner (relocation to British Columbia)

A private forestry company in British Columbia looking for individuals with an innovative and creative attitude to contribute to the team! 

Your new role 
You will be reporting to the woodlands manager. As the Forestry Planner you will be responsible for supporting a safety culture by leading by example. You will work individually as well as on a team, and you will be responsible for all aspects of forest operations related to planning and development. You will also be in charge to help support the development and operational stages of pre and post timber harvesting operations. Some of your responsibilities will include: operational planning, cut block, forest road layout, participating in silviculture activities, ensuring compliance with the Forest Stewardship Plan and ensuring plans are in compliance with applicable legislation. 

What you'll need to succeed 
- University Degree or Technical Diploma in forestry
- Minimum 5 years' of operational forestry related experience 
- Experience with SFI and ISO 14001 certification programs 
- Experience in cruising/timber evaluation 
- Experience in all aspects of forest operations 
- Experience and knowledge in the forest tenure system 
- Knowledge of the principles/practices of forest management planning, silviculture and legislative requirements    affecting forest management in Alberta
- Preference given to those with a RPF with ABCFP
