Feller Buncher Operator (Forestry, Logging & Mill Operations)

POSITION PURPOSE

Felling trees to length while maintaining production quotas, quality and a safe work environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (other duties may be assigned)
The following is a list of general job responsibilities for the Rubber Tired Feller Buncher Operator position.  This list is not all-inclusive and may be broadened or changed to meet changing business needs. 

• Operate Feller-Buncher that is equipped with a frontal shear, hot saw or grapples.
• Drive and maneuver machine to cut and stack trees.
• Ensure quality and length of trees are correct if cutting merchantable timber.
• Must be able to identify wood species and characteristics.
• Ability to perform selective tree thinning.
• Must be able to read and understand operating manuals and maps.
• Must follow employer safety guidelines regarding the machine operation and general logging safety.
• Have good judgement regarding site, terrain and weather conditions for safe vehicle and equipment operation.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

• Minimum of 2 years experience with logging equipment.
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Valid Oregon State Driver’s License to drive company vehicles

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

• This position is located in Klamath Falls, Oregon.
• Ability to climb ladders, stairs and work in tight spaced and around moving equipment, work in dark, dusty, and or high, windy environments.
• Must maintain punctual and regular attendance at all times.
• Requires the use of standard safety equipment in regulation with Oregon Operations.
• This position is a Physical and Mental Requirement Classification 7.
