Cleanup / Utility (Forestry, Logging & Mill Operations)

Georgia-Pacific’s Philomath, Oregon facility is seeking a dedicated and reliable employee to fill our entry level Cleanup/Utility position.

This position is Tuesday-Saturday,  6 p.m-5 a.m. Must be able to work nights and overtime. 

Sawmill or Planer mill experience preferred. 

Successful candidates are responsible for general area cleanup which includes repetitive work such as shoveling, sweeping, bending, twisting and reaching. Must be able to push/pull up to 50 lbs. Mill environment with exposure to hot/cold weather changes. Exposed to high level of noise, dust and debris, moving lumber, equipment and forklift traffic. Must be able to lock out equipment to work on safely. 

Must be able to read, write, speak and comprehend basic English in order to cross train and fill in at a variety of job locations. 

Prior experience working in a sawmill, with similar equipment or in similar industrial production jobs will be a benefit when competing for this position but is not necessary. 

Pay begins at $15.10 and employees may apply and be considered for operator positions with higher pay as openings arise.
